The 2020 limited edition “Christmas in Thomson” ornament depicts the Thomson-McDuffie Government Center at the corner of Greenway Street and Railroad Street in the heart of downtown Thomson. Constructed in 2011. the government center was the culmination of an effort made by the Thomson City Council and McDuffie County Board of Commissioners to better serve the people of McDuffie County. The contemporary landmark portrayed on this year’s ornament honors the 150th anniversary of McDuffie County, which was formed from portions of Warren County and Columbia County on October 18, 1870.
