2004 - Midway Church

$10.00

Founded by the children of Quartermans who migrated to Midway, Georgia in 1752, the original Midway Church was burned down by the British in 1778 for sending a delegation to the First Continental Congress. The church was rebuilt in 1792, prompting the county name of Liberty County in honor of their efforts and sacrifices. The church itself remains a classic example of a Colonial New England house of worship and has never been modernized by the addition of heating or artificial lights.
